Album release updates: The Donnas, Apollo Heights, and more

Apollo Heights
October 2nd is the release date for “White Music For Black People,” the New York duo’s debut LP. It includes collaborations with Mos Def, TV On The Radio and Robin Guthrie (who also produced).

Matt Costa
The singer-songwriter will release his second album, “Unfamiliar Faces,” on October 2 on Jack Johnson’s Brushfire label.

The Donnas
The band’s first release for their own label, “Bitchin’,” will hit stores September 18th.

Kurt Cobain About A Son OST
Barsuk will release the soundtrack to this Kurt Cobain biopic (expected in theaters in October) on September 11th. No Nirvana songs are included, but the disc features excerpts of Cobain speaking, plus the music of Ben Gibbard, Bad Brains, Mudhoney, R.E.M., David Bowie, and more.

The Most Serene Republic
“Population,” album number two for the Candian band, will arrive October 2nd on Arts & Crafts.

Moving Units
The Los Angeles band has signed to Metropolis and will release their second album, “Hexes for Exes,” on October 9th.
